Network Capability Details

At the bottom of an expanded access point's detail (below its timeline), you'll find its recorded 802.11 capabilities — technical detail captured directly from association/reassociation frames.

What you'll see

  • PHY generation, spatial streams, channel width, and 802.11k/v/r support tags.
  • Supported and mandatory data rates.
  • WMM Access Category parameters (Best Effort / Background / Video / Voice) — how the AP prioritizes different kinds of traffic.
  • RSN / Management Frame Protection status — security posture.
  • SU Beamformer/Beamformee support.
  • Maximum A-MPDU length — an efficiency-related setting affecting throughput.
  • Country channel/Tx-power allowances.

The equivalent panel for individual devices is Device Capabilities.

Why it matters

If a report mentions an AP isn't performing to spec, this is where you check what it's actually capable of and configured for, rather than guessing from behavior alone.
