Wi-Fi Passwords (SSID/PSK)

Admin only.

For your sensors to decrypt and inspect traffic on a given Wi-Fi network (SSID), they need that network's passphrase. This screen lets an Admin provide it, once, without ever exposing it again.

What you can do

  • For each SSID at your site, save a passphrase (8–63 characters) so sensors can decrypt that network's traffic.
  • Clear a previously-set passphrase.
  • The stored passphrase is write-only — the UI only ever shows "configured" or "not set," never the value itself, even to Admins.

Why it matters

Decryption is what powers device naming and lets Signal Vortex tell the difference between a genuine Wi-Fi problem and a problem happening further upstream (app or server-side) — see Understanding Capture Analysis for how that distinction shows up in practice. You only need to provide the passphrase once per SSID.
