Support Access Requests
Signal Vortex support engineers can't see your live sensor data by default. When they need to (usually while working a ticket), they request time-limited, scoped access — and you decide whether to grant it.
What you can do (Admins)
- Approve or deny a pending access request — a prompt can appear directly in the app, or you can review it from Settings → Support Access.
- See active grants, each showing its scope, site, and expiry, with a revoke button to end it early.
- Review an audit log of past access grants and actions — nothing happens silently.
Access you grant through a ticket
When you tick the consent checkbox while creating a ticket, you give access for that ticket only. It can be used only by the support engineer the ticket is currently assigned to — if the ticket is reassigned, the access moves with it, and while nobody is assigned it can't be used by anyone. It lasts 7 days (extended whenever a new message arrives while the ticket is open) and ends as soon as the ticket is closed. You can still revoke it at any time from Settings → Support Access.
What "scope" means
Access is never all-or-nothing — a request specifies exactly what it covers (e.g. read-only diagnostics vs. the ability to trigger a capture), which site it applies to, and how long it lasts before expiring automatically.
Why it matters
This is what makes it safe to get hands-on help from Signal Vortex: you can see exactly what's being requested, for how long, and revoke it at any time — access never persists by default.
