Creating Your Workspace

Who this is for: whoever is setting up Signal Vortex for an organization for the first time.

A workspace is your organization's account — it holds your sites, sensors, team, and everything else. Setting one up is a one-time, 6-step wizard.

The steps

  1. Name your workspace — your organization/company name.
  2. Create the first Admin account — name, email, password. This becomes the first team member, with full Admin rights.
  3. Pick the kind of space you're monitoring — office, retail, hotel, warehouse, education, healthcare, events, or general. This sets sensible default KPI targets and warning/critical thresholds you can fine-tune later in KPIs.
  4. Choose a sensor tier — plans range from a free 1-sensor tier up to 5 sensors, plus an on-demand tier for larger deployments. Larger tiers are available directly through your Signal Vortex account contact.
  5. Choose an expertise level — Basic, Intermediate, or High (see Roles and Expertise Levels). This can be changed later per user in Settings.
  6. Confirm — a summary screen, plus instructions for physically claiming your first sensor.

When you finish, you're signed in immediately as the new Admin — no separate login step.

If sign-ups are currently closed for this deployment, you'll see a "sign-ups closed" message instead of the wizard.

Next step

Once your workspace exists, claim a physical sensor so data starts flowing — see Claiming Your First Sensor.
