Roles and Expertise Levels

The app looks different depending on who you are (your role) and how deep you want to go (your expertise level). Both are set per team member and can be changed later by an Admin in Team and Roles.

Roles

RoleCan do
AdminEverything: billing, team management, site/sensor configuration, all diagnostics.
EditorManage sites, open tickets, run diagnostics — no billing or team management.
ViewerRead-only access to everything Editors can see.

Expertise levels

Chosen during workspace setup (or per-user), this controls how much detail is shown, not what data exists underneath:

  • Basic — a deliberately simplified app (see Simplified Experience) with three big questions instead of a full nav: "The Wi-Fi here", "Just my device", "What happened?". A Basic-expertise Admin still keeps Admin's settings access, just with the same simplified main screens as everyone else on Basic.
  • Intermediate — the full app, with the deeper technical tabs and options.
  • High — same full app, with additional technical detail exposed (e.g. CLI snippets in recommendations).

Expertise level does not restrict data — a Basic user's own device data is exactly as real as anyone else's. It restricts navigation and vocabulary, so someone who doesn't want to think in terms of BSSIDs and RSSI never has to.
